who am i (a poem, and a little more : )

i’m not so much a writer
as an inspired scribe
surrendering to truth within
and allowing it to arise

moving along life’s river
i surrender to its flow
deepening my awakening
the earthly ego is letting go

death no longer haunts me
for i see the role it plays
form casting shadows
in the realm of earthly days

i am eternal life
a re-creation, born again
here, to live life fully
forever and amen

Living the Deepening of Awakening
– a personal contemplation –

poetic rhythm
has been my natural expression
for the past many years

i didn’t seek it out
it just seemed to come
as a natural flow

a release
of that which was within me
a continual and eternal expansion

a breathing in
of God’s goodness and beauty
a breathing out of the same

circulating rhythm
pulsating throughout me
pulsating throughout life

i’ve been asked how i write my poetry
best i can say is i don’t
it just flows

and i am coming
to understand
why that is

in my surrender
in my willingness
in my trusting

i’m coming
into acceptance
regardless of circumstance

this is freedom
power and authority
kingdom reign

i sat out to contemplate
the poem above — “who am i”
and these words are the resultant flow

Trying Again
prose, maybe?

Ok, so my plan above was to write a bit of an explanation for what an “inspired scribe” means to me, yet the words that make up “Living the Deepening of Awakening” just flowed out in a poetic style. So, let’s try again…

This “gift” (or talent, or ability) I’m now calling “inspired scribing” heightened drastically on the heals of a major loss in my life (for the second time). It didn’t always feel like a gift for it was often overwhelming. Not so much to receive the information. That was invigorating. But to try to explain how I received the information. So, for the most part, I stayed mum.

It’s been almost four years since these instantaneous and inspired insights started coming, and I am now at peace with the process. For I trust the Source. God within. Revelation coming to my mind so that it may be shared out into the world, and we may join together in celebrating the good and beauty that lights up this earthly experience.

I have found when life is no longer “working” the way we expect, an opportunity is provided to awaken us to a deeper truth within. For me, this has happened over and over again. Taking me more fully into oneness with God. A place of peace. A place I had to lose in order to find it, once again.

This is what we are to discover. This is what the earthly experience is for.

To dis the cover. To see the light.

The light we truly are.
