What If

what if
the cracks are allowed
because the light is hidden within

what if
the cracks are the only way
for the light to be discovered

what if
the cracks are our rescue
from internal bondage

what if
the cracks are a lifeline
to our saving hope

what if
we looked at the cracks
and used them to break out

instead of believing
others who cry aloud
‘those cracks will break you’

for you can’t break that which has already
been broken, for it was in the breaking,
the separation, new life is allowed to rise

so open your eyes and see
open your ears and hear, the voice
within desires to set you free
