Transmutation of Suffering

cause and effect
consequences of action
karmic resolution

call it what you will
that is one reason for our suffering
we bring it upon ourselves

reason number two
is not from our own doing
but it is allowed for our good

our soul growth and development
so that God’s miraculous power can be
made manifest upon this earth

who am I to try to deny
that which God has ordained
for my betterment and His glory

if my prayer shall be
not my will but Thine be done
dark days matter not

each step will appear
just when I need it
I believe this to be true

for I walk by faith, not by sight
trusting God with my life
I give up the fight

facing my fears I realize
I had put my faith in ill-usion and lies,
but truth tore down those deceptive walls

and truth has set me free
I now have entered heaven’s gates
for all eternity
