Life can tear you down, shred your clothes,

leave you broken, beaten, and worn;
taking your wrists and ankles, wrapping them in chains,

imprisoning you in a stationary plane.

But there’s light in this dark world.

Re-cover;
it’s in the releasing of the tattered clothes,
and the heavy and burdensome chains.
Asking for help, receiving help;
demonstrates courage and strength.

It’s the first step
toward hearing Wisdom’s whisper,

Ask. Seek. Find.

Exchange your tatters
for a beautiful garment—
a garment of God’s love;
this is what you were

always destined to wear.
