When I abandon expectations
put on me by others, by society, by self,
I’m free to live uninhibited.
I’m free to roam as intended.
I’m free to make my way.
I’m free to run and play.
I’m free to be how God created me.
I’m free to claim my true identity.
I learn to abandon expectations
by soaking up His love.
For His love sets me free.
It’s His heartsong sung over me.
