Beautifully imperfect

what is the age when we start to become aware of our imperfections
believing that something is wrong because we’re different than the rest

when did differences become a stigma and not a sign of uniqueness
when did conformity become more important than originality

we were created to push our limits
we were created to beat their own drums
we were created to make a lasting impact upon our world

it is healthy and righteous to question the status quo
not from a rebelling heart but from a desire
to create beauty out of all of life’s so-called imperfections,
because in creating the beauty one realizes
it was only beauty that existed all along
